CBN | 氮化硼刀具

CBN (Cubic Boron Nitride) cutting tools are made by tightly sintering cubic boron nitride with a tungsten carbide base. Their hardness is second only to PCD (Polycrystalline Diamond) tools, and they possess excellent chemical stability, not reacting with iron, cobalt, or nickel-based metals.

Product Structure

CBN cutting tools are made by sintering cubic boron nitride (CBN) with a tungsten carbide base. They offer high hardness and excellent chemical stability, not reacting with iron, cobalt, or nickel-based metals. These tools are particularly suitable for machining hardened steels (HRC 45↑), chilled cast iron, and Inconel heat-resistant alloys. With the increasing demand for environmental protection and efficiency, CBN turning is gradually replacing traditional grinding methods.

Processing Advantages and Usage Recommendations

CBN cutting tools, when designed properly, offer high impact resistance, making them suitable for interrupted cutting and dry machining. Usage recommendations include: - Keep the tool overhang short and ensure stable clamping, with a preference for negative rake inserts (e.g., TNMA1604, VNMG1604). - The recommended cutting angle should be at least 15°, adjustable up to 45° depending on the working conditions. - Prior to machining, always apply chamfering and ensure adequate cutting fluid supply to prevent corner chipping of the workpiece.

SRH Treatment Technology and Benefits

To further enhance the lifespan and surface quality of CBN tools, SRH treatment (Small-Radius Honed) can be selected. This involves adding a small radius (0.02~0.05mm) to the cutting edge's negative rake angle. According to practical experience, SRH treatment can extend tool life by approximately 20-30%, while also improving the surface roughness (Ra) of the machined workpiece.
